I am a tutor who loves to teach. I believe you can get the best results using a blend of academic work and play. I also encourage scientific curiosity and artistic enthusiasm. I make my sessions fun and interactive because I think it is the best way for kids to grow and learn.I have extensive experience as a tutor. While I was in college, I served as a private tutor for four years, teaching all subjects. I have tutored children ages 5 to 16, again helping in all subjects, and I have taught English as a Second Language to students in other countries. I have also taught homeless children and helped prepare at-risk high school students for college.My experience extends to college-age students as well, helping students with English Composition and Literature and test preparation. My education includes a Ph.D. from Binghamton University, and I score for both the Educational Testing Service's AP English exam and for the ACT, so I am especially helpful to students facing tests including essay questions.In my leisure time, I enjoying playing piano, singing and songwriting, hiking, and drama.
